LIFESTYLE

Our Lifestyle is made up of where we live and how we live. Where we live should either stimulate us or soothe us. Hopefully, both at different times. Although the prevalent dream is to live in a sunny climate in a livable community, that genuine dream might not be yours. The speed, opportunity and stimulation of a great city may fill your brain and activate your heart. Or a small town with friendly neighbors and a 4th of July parade may be the only thing that makes sense to you. The important thing is only you know what creates positive emotions and low stress for you. Many times people are stuck in communities where they currently work or feel anchored by some unexamined tie. Habit is not a good reason to live somewhere. A place you feel secure, can afford, provides access to recreation, sports, culture and opportunity are all factors to be considered. And one last thing about where you live. Whether it’s a spacious home, budget apartment or a rented room, arrange it, decorate it, and keep it clean in a way that makes it a refuge from the world. That’s not an excuse for extravagance. Rather, just be conscious of your home. Its ambience is a source of stress or peace. Make it peace.

A final thought on Dream Life is be original. The industrial media complex that floods our world with minute-by-minute messages of what’s important and desirable is designed for one purpose – to sell us stuff, lots of stuff.

We are not generic. Don’t become a cyborg, unable to distinguish your opinion from MTV’s or even this one. Above all, think, ponder, and carefully consider your soul’s desire. Then act. You don’t have to be dramatic. Be confident enough to take small progressive steps toward your Dream Life. Life is made up of chapters. What your dream is today will likely change. It’s okay, you can move to Hawaii and come home in two years. We are all on a journey, but we must get moving. Don’t wait to start living your Dream Life. DO something today.
